Only Month to Month authorizations for C-Band Packages

As of September 1st we are not allowed to activate c-band customers for more then one month at the time.

Cost of monthly subscriptions will not be posted on our website as the service to C-band will be phased down here by the end of the year. Estimated cost for one month service will be approximately 50% of the 3 month price.

Those wishing to continue receiving cable and premium movie channels will have to upgrade their equipment and switch to services offered by DirecTv, Dish Network, Shaw Direct or BellexpressVu systems.

Omegasource MTS Inc. can assist in switching to any of the systems listed above and we will be very happy to be of any assistance for c-band customers.

Please contact us at 403-287-7344 or 866-340-4587 or email.

We are not happy to see the C-Band systems go, but we understand the economics of Motorola decisions. If you would like to read more about the Motorola decision regarding c-band please click here.

Motorola Notification for 4DTV Customers

If you would like to go to the PDF bersion of this letter please go to this link Motorola Official Notification

MOTOROLA, July 12,2010
To Our Valued 4DTV Customer:
As you are well aware, the C-Band market has been in a constant state of decline for
many years. The total subscriber count has now reached about 18,000 and continues to
dwindle. We have received indications that some of our existing customers will not be
participating in this space beyond 2010. As the customer base declines, it becomes
increasingly difficult to maintain our participation in the ecosystem. We have fixed
operational costs that we must recover, and the only way to recover the cost would be to
substantially raise our prices over the remaining customer base.
After having considered these facts, we’ve arrived at the decision that Motorola will not
be participating in the operation of this business after 12/31/2010. This decision will
allow us and our partners to gracefully shut down this business. We feel that this is the
best course of action for Motorola, our partner companies, and the consumers who use
our servIces.
Sincerely,
Eric Sprunk

Sling Media technical problem

As of late yesterday afternoon, EchoStar’s Sling Media was still experiencing service issues that have cut some subs off from their video streams. The problems first cropped up Thursday evening when a “data migration process” apparently misfired. As a result many users have not been able to log into their accounts. According to a spokesman, the issue is affecting some but not all Slingbox users. The company reported “improvements over the weekend and (it) continues to work to restore access to normal levels.”
