There has been a change in the sky from AMC 4 to AMC2 C-Band satellites today in the 4DTV W4 location due to the failure of the old AMC4 satellite and the AMC2 satellite is now only operating at half power.
This should not affect any of our subscription channels, but some customer may be concerned about a poor picture on the free W4-16 PBSX channel.
There is nothing we can do about the poor quality of that station’s picture.
It might possibly improve later after the transition from AMC 4 to AMC2 in the same location is complete.

The AMC-4 satellite has not "failed," nor does it have any "battery issues."
No trouble tickets or service complaints were received by SES AMERICOM
since the move in March.
Coverage and power levels are basically the same for CONUS:
Thank for the comment and correction of our incorrect information.
Could you tell me if this change-out of amc4 to amc2 effects our Glorystar system, or is this strictly for c-band only… The reason I ask is, we are experiencing some low sig. and quality readings on our system for the past week or so… Thank you

which disc and antenne head for reception of AMC-4 are required?
Depending on your geographical location you will need a different size dish.
I use 33 inch and sometimes I have problems with reception, but 36 inches work fine in my area. If you are further north then 40 inch will be better.
Lnbf it is Ku Standard.
