New HD Sports Bundle Starting February 1

Last month both TSN HD and Sportsnet HD notified Star Choice of substantial increases in the cost for these channels.
Therefore, Star Choice have created a new HD SPORTS bundle, including TSN HD and Sportsnet HD, which is available to customers who subscribe to the standard definition channels for only $1.99/month.

This new bundle is available at no extra cost to customers who subscribe or upgrade to  Gold Plus, Platinum Plus,Titanium Plus, Ultimate, or Ultimate Plus English packages. Customers to these packages do not need to take any action. Subscribers to other packages can order HD SPORTS through their website or by contacting Star Choice at 1 888 554-STAR. 

RDS HD will continue to be available at no additional cost.
Customers can subscribe early and enjoy the preview to February 1st.

Free to Air receivers still in the dark.


The Christmas and New Year season is over, and long anticipated fixes for the FTA receivers are still not coming.
Pirated satellite receivers are not working well or at all and even some receivers like CaptiveWorks, Pansats, Sonicviews and others are releasing temporary fixes, some form of stability is far from here. Some of the so called fixes are not working even when released.
If any of the new fixes survive any ECM, then we may expect the software to spread to other models and makes, but for now it looks like the satellite companies are winning big and pirates are crushed for now.
What about the fta receiver in IKS Internet mode?
Well, by looking at almost daily releases of new files for them I suspect that they are in a lot of trouble as well.
