Little explenation of the ECM from Nov 28.07

Bellow is a little info I found on another site and in one of the info groups. It’s interesting read for those who would like to understand more what is going on out there, when they lost some channels on their FTA receivers yesterday.

“Well it’s that time of year when the providers like to play. This round has brought on new mapcalls 4e and 4d along with the use of dynamic code to retrieve the control words which allow us video. The catch this time is a new Timer function. This is surly a test to see how much the FTA coders know. It will test to see if they know how long a mapcall takes to process. This Hit was definitely geared towards FTA. Be patient and let the coders do their work. The days when it was as simple as manually entering keys is almost behind us as this new
dynamic code looks to be here for good with new bins required each time. It’s in the hands of the coders now and the next few days will be
very interesting to see which coders will come through.

Never go down FTA ?

I hear now and then from different people claiming that their friends or Buddy’s FTA Free to Air receivers never go down or in another words, they work for ever.
Sure thing, if they are using their FTA receivers for legitimate free to air broadcast, like BVN TV, 3ABN, RTPi, HRT Satellicki Program, and many many more that are free to everybody as long as you have tuned dish to the right satellite and have the FTA digital satellite receiver.
However if they are using then to hack satellite signal, then since they all work on the same principal, the are going down. That is, they are being shut down frequently.
If I am wrong then please leave a comment with the receiver name and model number with some info on the software version you are using, so we can prove you wrong.
Personally, I think that people claiming this kind of stuff are full of hot air. You can simply go to file sharing and forum sites and look at the new file releases for different models. If there are new file being released then obviously they needed to be fixed. They went down. If you don’t see any newer releases then they didn’t even have a support and they don’t work at all, except for true free channels. The are down for a long time.
