With this upgrade, Star Choice will become the first Canadian satellite TV provider to move exclusively towards the advanced 8PSK modulation standard.
8PSK modulation, and the new software download, brings a number of key benefits to Star Choice Customers, including:
• A Higher Quality HD picture;
• Additional room for more HD channels to be added to Canada’s Biggest and Best no extra cost HD package (currently at 21 channels);
• Faster performance and enhanced stability; and
• Instant-on functionality, allowing for guide information to load in less than 3 minutes after a power failure or reset.
The upgrade also includes other features and enhancements, such as:
• An improved user-friendly interactive Program Guide, providing faster operation, easy-to-read text, and colour-coded program types (“Movies”, “Sports”, “Children’s”, etc.) for enhanced surfing.
• Plus, in the months ahead, Star Choice will be adding capabilities to view localized weather, search for particular programs, longer-term channel listings in the on-screen guide, and richer more informative program descriptions.
The software upgrade is free and, if not already done in the factory, will occur automatically for all new customers upon activation. There is no need to call Star Choice for this upgrade.
Existing customers will be automatically upgraded from July 24 to mid-August.
