AMC the American Movie Classics channel is back accessible to big C-band customers on Satellite G-9 channel 701.
On September 28th, analog feed of popular AMC channel on Satellite G1 Channel 1 began its conversion to digital broadcast and September 29th stopped its analog feed for good. It was sad and disappointing moment for all C-Band subscribers who didn’t yet upgrade their satellite receivers to the new Motorola 922 4DTV digital receiver.
For a few days nobody really knew where will they be, and initially EPG (Electronic Program Guide) displayed MTV as a name, however they have corrected that now and proper name is now displayed on G9-701
For many people having big dishes, no change is a good thing. Unfortunately we can not stop progress of technology, so is you want to use your C-Band dish, you better get your hands on new digital receiver, otherwise soon there will be nothing but snow on all channels.
ABC Family channel on G5-11 stopped its analog broadcast as well and we are working on making it available as a digital channel for C-band dishes soon.
