EchoStar Communications and its security partner NagraStar, along with Bell ExpressVu, conducted a massive civil raid on several locations throughout Ontario, Canada, suspected of participating in illegal satellite signal intercepting and descrambling. The companies said the operation was in cooperation with law enforcement officials to combat pirates of satellite services and equipment. According to EchoStar, the raids were simultaneously conducted at storefronts and residences in Niagara Falls, Amhurstburg, Brampton, Innisfil, Mississauga and Markham, Canada. The company publicly named seven individuals who were subject to the raid saying several members of the suspect’s families were also involved in
the investigation. Among the businesses raided were Blue Screen Computer Services, DSSTOYBOX, DISHTOYBOX, Skylink Electronics, HLV Marketing and CanadianDSS. EchoStar said thousands of satellite piracy devices were confiscated along with records of customer activity including purchase orders for piracy equipment and requests for technical assistance with the hardware. The search also produced, “a number of significant leads for similar future actions,” the company said. As a result, 17 web addresses have been disabled including spacetwister.com, angelpride.com, devilscrypt.com, dssword.com, ftafix.com, dsstoybox.com, extremen2.com, globalpayment.com, disharm.com, internationalhosting.info,
outerlimitsatellitesupplies.com, satgroup.ca, overseashostingonline.com, dishtoybox.com, Nagra2hack.com, dsswholesale.com and armsecuritysolutions.com
