A NEW Retailer Customer Move Program from Star Choice

INSIDE STAR CHOICE TV: LATEST NEWS AND OFFERS

Changes effective July 1st 2008
Effective July 1st 2008, retailers will no longer be authorized to book or complete retail initiated move programs. Customers who are moving to another location, and need their services moved, will be required to contact Star Choice directly in order to schedule an installation date at their new address. Retailers will be able to schedule Move Programs provided the work is completed, and the work order is closed by July 1st.

This further eliminates retail dealer/installer involvement with customer. Time will tell if this is a good idea.

Vonage telephone Nightmares !

Recently we have experienced unusual telephone problem. Lines appeared to be working and we were able to call out, but customers dialing our number were getting message from Telus that “you have dialed the number that isn’t in use”

After contacting Vonage service we were told that someone will contact us about it within 48 hours. Great speed ! 

It effected our tool free number as well as it is attached to our main line. Great! Our customers will thing we are out of business!

Every time we called useless Vonage customer service we were asked the same questions over an over. We were told that probably last carrier we were with took that number back, and they will try to get it back and it happens all the time and they call it “number slamming” and it is illegal. Great, what a optimistic look into the future!

Finely after 6 (six) full days of lost phone lines we got them back. No explanation, apologies. Nothing.

I demanded explanation of the problem and all I got back was “it was disconnected for some reason”

I want to know the reason. I want to sue. I want to get those north American hungry lawyers working and busy suing Vonage or Telus or whoever is responsible for this.

Vonage lines may be cheep but my God , the service is a NIGHTMARE.

Website database problems on Websitesource server !

 

About the same time Vonage made our telephone lines not reachable, Websitesource who hosts our website made an upgrade of SQL database software that interferes with the way our website suppose to be displayed. Our posts and news aren’t displayed where they should be. They are not on the front page anymore.

Total mess.

Well ,,, while trying to find solution to the problem, we were told that problem is caused by 3rd party software and until 3rd party does something about it, nothing will be done.

I think it is time to find better host then Websitesource , as this is not good deal here

What happened to PBS channels on T6 Satellite?

The three free PBS channels on T6-600 to T6-603 are having tech. problems.

They are going to be moving to T4 at 89 degrees, but have not been mapped there yet.

They probably will be mapped next week. These are free channels, which we have no control over, but since many customers have called about them, I thought I would post update for your information.

TV Land and Showtime HD is moving.

Please note the following changes:

Showtime HD West located on GO-120 will be moving this week.  They are performing 5 hour blackouts in preparation for this move.  We will have more info before the final transition which is scheduled for this Thursday or Friday.  

TV Land will be moving to W5-602 within the next couple of days.  It will stay up on G3-620 long enough for us to notify our customers. 

In the G3-620 spot we will be uplinking Spike TV…………….

 

More information will be available as soon as possible.

Can not find channel, continuing to search

W1-DENVER NETWORKS

Many customers have been calling about not getting these channels. Usually, a rehit on G5-100 will turn them back on. They lost them because of the end of the month reauthorization. The W1 screen says “cannot find channel, continuing to search” which usually means that it needs to be fine tuned, but it this case it only needs a rehit.

TV Land and Spike TV have moved !

SPIKE TV IS NOW ON G3-620
A rehit may be necessary to get the programming to come on. 
It is only available in packages*. 
It will not be available as an a la carte.

TV LAND IS NOW ONLY ON W5-602. 
If TV Land is in a package*, and you are subscribed to it, then you should have it.

* ANY PACKAGE THAT HAS TV LAND WILL HAVE SPIKE AS WELL.  ANY PACKAGE THAT HAS SPIKE IN IT – SHOULD HAVE TV LAND AS WELL. 

THIS HAS NOT BEEN TESTED.  IF ANY PROBLEMS OR QUESTIONS ARISE PLEASE LET ME KNOW AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.  WE HAVE NEVER HAD A CHANNEL SWITCH SUCH AS THIS – SO PROBLEMS MAY ARISE.  LET’S ALL HOPE THAT THIS IS NOT SO.
